CS1A Partnerships and Pathways to Develop and Retain Hawaii’s Healthcare Workforce

  • Isaias Iñiguez

    Isa is the Associate Director of Workforce Development and special populations and is responsible for identifying and establishing partnerships with healthcare stakeholders to address California's healthcare workforce shortage and healthcare disparities affecting special populations. Isa regularly engages in workforce-related government agency and partner stakeholder meetings to advocate for community health center needs and manages CPCA’s annual compensation & workforce assessments to identify and promote innovative workforce strategies. Isa also leads the implementation of programs and projects that enhance community health centers' capacity to strengthen their recruitment and retention initiatives and expand their HIV prevention efforts.

  • Patty Sutton, RN, BSN, MBA

    Patty Sutton, RN, BSN, MBA is the Chief Operations Officer at Waimanalo Health Center. Patty has over 25 years of healthcare leadership experience with seven years of that time being in Hawaii. Prior to joining WHC, Patty worked at Adventist Health Castle, Kailua as the Director of Perioperative & Obstetric Services. She also worked Christus Spohn Memorial and Shoreline Hospitals, in Corpus Christi, Texas, as the Executive Director of Perioperative Services.

    Patty has a Master of Business Administration from National American University in Rapid City, South Dakota, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from South Dakota State University. In her spare time, Patty enjoys hiking, photography, family, and the beach.

  • Meghann Martelly, MD

    Dr. Meghann Martelly, MD, is a Family Medicine physician who graduated from the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine. She received her medical training at the Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD), an FQHC-based residency program in City Heights, San Diego with a hospital affiliation with Scripps Mercy Hospital in Hillcrest. She served as Chief Resident there before returning home to Hawaii in 2019 to work as a full-time Primary Care Physician (PCP) at the Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center (WCCHC), where she has enjoyed serving the families of Nanakuli and has particularly enjoyed precepting medical students and Nurse Practitioner residents.

    In 2022, Dr. Martelly was recruited by WCCHC to play a pivotal role in the development of a Community Health Center (CHC) based residency program. Leveraging her experience training in a similar program setting and her passion for medical education, she has been heavily involved in the planning stages of the program at WCCHC.
